We had covered Cluster installation with HA and three nodes in the first 3 parts of this series. Will cover AD integration for login, vCenter adding as solution , view reports , licensing and walk through console in this post.

vROPS integration with Active Directory
Login to first or second node https://fqdn or IP – This will take to portal login – provide admin as user & password
Navigate to Administration – Access – Authentication sources – Click ADD (+)
- Display name: SSLAB.com
- Source : Active Directory
- Integration : basic ( necessary info vrops will pull)
- domain/subdomain : sslab.com
- User name : administrator@sslab.com
- password: xxxxxxxxxx
Select test and click OK
Now the AD is added as shown below.
Navigate to Administration – Access – Access Control
Under user accounts – Click import as shown below.
Select import from : sslab.com
provide ad user name – search
Select the user as shown below and Click Next
Click on Objects on top and select the access for this user – click finish and accept any popups.
Now try login wit ad user added above. https://fqdn or ip
Logged in with ad user to vROPS.
Integrating vCenter with vROPS as solution
Login to vROPS – Administration – Solutions – Select VMWare vSphere – Click Settings gear icon as shown below
Display Name: vCenterServer
vCenter server: fqdn of vcenter: vcenter-vc01.sslab.com
Click (+) sign for credential to add vCenter credentials.
Give a name, user name and password
Accept certificate of vCenter
Click on test connection and its successful
test was successful
Click on Save Settings
After saving close the vSphere solution window
Reports & Dashboards in vROPS
Now vCenter collection will start and it will take time based on no of objects in vCenter.
Dashboards walk through
Click on dashboards – All dashboards – select the dashboard as shown below.
Select the cluster to populate information as shown below. As shown my cluster memory 88 % is utilized.
vROPS Manager Settings walk Through
Cluster information can also be managed form portal as shown below.
Credentials for solutions can be added or edited here.
License can be added here.
With this we had completed the vRealize Operations Manager 6.7 HA with master, replica and data nodes installation and configuration.
